My experience thus far at the AIS ......is grade 6 Canberra Camp!! I think this time tho it is going to be a whole lot better because instead of the kid walking through taking a look around, I’m actually going to be staying there. I should hold back the enthusiasm, and act as tho this is just a mellow thing in my life, but I can hold back.....I’m so EXCITED I have high hope, of having a blast on the bike, training hard, and getting to know other cyclists...I’m in this 6 week time gap this is very very achievable!
The build up to this point of finally starting the camp that had be in the back of my mind for the last few weeks, involved a very busy yesterday, which didn’t start well...I had a sore throat!!..However that didn't damper my spirits’ for my last ride for a few weeks with the SASI boys, who have been smashing me up since I’ve been in Adelaide! It was a fantastic day and with the sun out, the hills as far as you could see, Matty Benson summed it up nicely “suck it in” .I was on top of the world, there was no other place I would rather be!
What followed a blissful ride was a rushed and stressed afternoon. Getting packed, organising uni for when I go away and tying up all those loose ends before my departure this morning! Going to bed tired and unstreched wasn’t exactly the ideal situation before camp!
Although waking this morning (4am) hoping the sore throat had gone....and it semi has (thanks to pumping vitamin C all day yesterday and telling myself “I’m not sick”, I’m feeling pretty good and fresh all ready to tackle camp!!!
Time is in my favour for this next 6 weeks, so expect the updates to come thick and fast, loaded with all the action of my time at the AIS, on bike camp!!

Till then,
