Camp update..NUMBER 1!

So the thick and fast updates haven’t arrived as yet, due to the lack of energy to sit at my computer and go through the last few days, which have been full of lows and highs.
Let’s start with the bad so we can finish on a high.... ok...My bike!!Through a lack of communication my bike ended up being left in Melbourne, while I was in Canberra ready to take on a 6 week training camp!...and with no bike this was going to be a struggle! I surprised myself because I didn’t get worked up as much as I thought I might have, and just accepted that my bike wasn’t going to arrive till Monday and that I would be forced to take the path of other alternatives!!
The bad news stopped there, and my world looked up when Mary Ann Simpson, found a bike for me to use till Monday, and on top of that camp testing will take up the next few days, and a bike was not completely necessary!!!So all was happy again.
HAPPY SNAPS!!

Testing has been tough, and draining. Thus far we have had two days of testing including VO2max and 4 minute half paced/ half flat out effort, amongst all the other testing of haemoglobin mass and blood tests. I was a lucky one, who after a mass of testing that morning (this was Friday), VO2 max, haemoglobin, blood test, I was randomly drug tested by the official drug testing body!!Not shy of having to do the “embarrassing stuff” of being drug tested, it was over relatively quickly. For my first experience it wasn’t that bad!!
The AIS altitude house has been going along dandy, and is certainly a big high, of the week. I’m amongst some of the funniest, and life loving girls! Even tho we are saying that in 6 weeks, we will be ripping into each other about little things, truly I don’t think this will happen!!!The balance has been found amongst the house of; own time, ride time and social time!!
The house goes to altitude on Tuesday, once all the initial testing is over!!everyone is itching to get off “the great white” the ergo we do all our testing on...named by Carlee Taylor, and get out of the AIS premises and hit up the road!!
Till then
Angela :)
