My Easter has been a bit of a blur thus far, mainly because it has been more about the bike then the actual chocolate eating period, but nevertheless it has been a good one!
The highly anticipated egg hunt kicked off on Saturday to create a funnier recovery day... and to celebrate Easter!!However the competitive people we are as cyclists, all the girls through the recovery out the window and raced around Canberra, finding chocolate and completing tasks to gain points to find MORE chocolate!!The hunt ended up with a real egg being thrown at me (below), but that did not take away the adrenaline rushing afternoon of finding chocolate...even tho I must admit I’m not the biggest fan of the stuff, a competition is a competition...and yes my group unfortunately lost, due to some technical guidelines we did not follow!!
Easter morning for me and I will presume the rest of the house was very different. There was no time to sit around and eat chocolate..we saved that for after..it was time for what we had read on our training sheets as “TRAINING WILL BE VERY HARD”, with this in mind, the girls in the morning were more focused about getting their bikes and selves ready for the 9am ride then what the actual day was; Easter!!
With the ride over and the tub centre (aka recovery centre..ice cold water) done and dusted, the arvo was spent relaxing in the house, aiming to stay awake long enough for the Pari Roubiaix..did not quite make it...but a great weekend all the same!!
