The house thus far is going swell!!After four days of vigorous testing on the bike and off, being pricked in every finger at least once, wearing the face mask for VO2’s at least 5 times, we finally got started with, what we came he do to and that was to live at altitude!!It was a restless first night, due to wearing HR monitor tabs on the end of our fingers to monitor our body’s response to the altitude, and to keep measure if something happened to go wrong. However these machines are designed for the average person, and not for a fit athlete. Miffy Galloways HR going so low throughout the night due to her superb fitness keep the machines throwing a frenzy all night, and the lab guys going in and out of our room constantly!!!!
Up till last night and before my last post the days have been running on a predictable basis. In times of boredom the escape route is walking a few steps down the hallway to one of the other girl’s rooms, or the kitchen...14 girls it’s hard to feel alone!!
The real training starts today, with a long bike ride around Canberra, with a few efforts thrown in to mix it up, no doubt all the girl’s legs are tried from testing, although the eagerness to finally get out on the road for some real training will hopefully override the pain!

Till then....check out “The AIS altitude house” face book!!
